Fact:
This
was the first time the Senators hosted the NHL
All-Star Game, Only Winnipeg now has not hosted
the event in an Canadian location. Also this was
the 2nd year in a row that an All-Star Fantasy
Draft was used to decide the Captain's rosters.
2007 CUP FINAL RUN:
2007 Eastern Conference Champions!
The Senators
made their first trip to the Stanley Cup Final
in 2007. The first three series the Sens
defeated their opponents in 5 games (Pittsburgh,
New Jersey & Buffalo). However they were stopped
in the finals by the Anaheim Ducks who beat them
out in 5 games, to claim their first Stanley Cup
Championship. Since then the Senators have
missed the playoffs in 2009, 2011, 2014, 2016,
2018, 2019 and have not advanced past the 3rd round.

Stars first hosted the game back in 1972 when the team was located in Minnesota and
known as the North Stars, and was played in the Metropolitan Sports Center in
Bloomington. This marks the first for Stars since
they moved to Dallas in 1993.
