Description:
The
series centered around the Bunker family who lived in a
home located at 704 Houser Street in Queens, New York.
Archie Bunker was the main character, and what a
character he was. He was televisons most famous bigot,
crass and down right rude. Yet he was loveable, with a
soft side just beneath the surface. Edith Bunker was his
somewhat dizzy wife whom he called "Dingbat".
Edith put up with Archie and had qualities about her
that made her one of television's most unforgetable
characters. Also living in the Bunker household were
Archie and Edith's daughter, Gloria, and her husband
Mike, or "Meathead" as Archie called him.
Other
Notes:
The
show was later renamed "Archie Bunker's
Place". It ran from 1979 to 1983 (4 Seasons). |

Description:
Now
that gritty approach to crime known as forensic science
makes its way from Las Vegas to the streets of Florida
in CSI: Miami. A whole new team of crime scene
investigators is on hand to probe the seamy underside of
what some refer to as Cuba North and others call Georgia
South. Consider it a tropical blend of people, culture,
nightlife and, of course, the occasional killing or two.
Just as you do in Vegas, come for the crime, stick
around for the clues. And there's always a clue.
Other
Notes:
This
is the second of the CSI Trilogy series, the first
titled "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" which
takes place in Las Vegas, and the other "CSI: New
York". |

Full
House ran for eight seasons and was one of the few
primetime sitcoms to have more than 190 episodes. Early
in its run, Full House received awful reviews, but it
still became a popular favorite, even as it continued to
receive not-so-good reviews throughout its run. Set in
San Francisco, this is a show about a very loving family
headed by Danny Tanner, who became a single father when
his wife, Pam Tanner, was killed in a car accident.
Pam's brother Jesse, and Danny's best friend Joey
Gladstone moved into the house to help Danny raise his
three daughters D.J., Stephanie, and Michelle.

The
Dukes of Hazzard Movie |
|
Show
Description:
The
Duke Family -- cousins Bo and Luke, assisted by their
cousin Daisy and their uncle, Jesse -- fight the system
and root out the corrupt practices of Hazzard County
Commissioner Boss Hogg and his bumbling
brother-in-law-Sheriff Rosco P. Coltrane. The show
became an instant hit, never failing to win its time
slot during its original run on CBS for seven seasons
from 1979-1985. The Duke boys, a pair of 'Robin Hood'
types complete with flaming bows and arrows, are
assisted in their adventures by their car, an orange
1969 Dodge Charger named 'The General Lee'. The Dukes of
Hazzard is set in Georgia, and the show's southern
influence is felt throughout. Country singing superstar
Waylon Jennings performed the famous theme song to the
show (Good Ol' Boys), and acts as The Balladeer,
narrating the adventures of each episode. Furthermore,
many of the plots revolved around the Dukes' history as
an ex-moon-shining family.
Other
Notes:
Two
reunion movies, featuring the surviving members of the
cast, aired in 1997 and 2000, and in the summer of 2005
experienced another huge revival with the film version,
starring Seann William Scott, Johnny Knoxville, Willie
Nelson and Jessica Simpson. |

Description:
Inspector
Gadget was a cartoon parody of the 1960's television spy
parody, Get Smart. Don Adams played the leads in both
shows. There are similarities between the two shows.
Both agents only had lots of gadgets or devices that
they never could use correctly. Both worked for a chief
that they invariably infuriated. And of course, both
Gadget and Smart were lovable idiots who always won in
the end, usually by accident or by someone else's help.
Spinoffs:
Gadget
Boy and Heather, Gadget Boy's Adventures in History,
Inspector Gadget's Field Trip and Gadget and the
Gadgetinis. A liveaction theatrical movie based on the
cartoon was released in 1999, as well as a liveaction
direct-to-video sequel in 2003. |

The
Flintstones was a parody on modern suburban life,
set in the Stone Age. The characters in the cartoon
series all behaved and spoke in a contemporary manner,
though they lived in the prehistoric city of Bedrock.
Fred worked as operator of a dinosaur-powered crane at
Rock Hard & Quarry Cave Construction Co. (slogan:
"Own Your Own Cave and Be Secure"). Around
their split-level cave the Flintstones enjoyed such
conveniences as Wilma's Stoneway piano, a hi-fi on which
Fred could play his "rock" music (it consisted
of a turntable and a bird with a long beak to serve as a
needle), a vacuum cleaner (a baby elephant with a long
trunk), and an automatic garbage disposal unit (a
famished buzzard stashed under the sink). Their car,
which sported tail fins, also came equipped with
steamroller wheels--to smooth out the rocky road.

The
Raccoons was an animated show played from 1985 to 1992
on the Canadian Broadcasting Channel (CBC) and Disney.
The show started as special half hour episodes brought
out each year at Christmas such as 'The Christmas
Raccoons', 'The Raccoons on Ice' and 'The Raccoons:
Let's Dance' which was a compilation of the previous
specials. There was also an hour long special 'The
raccoons and the Lost Star' that I believe was shown in
two half hour parts. After the success of the specials
the series was created using all the same characters,
introducing new characters as the series progressed. The
series played once a week rather than each year and all
the episodes were 25 minutes long.

Description:
The
FOX network's most successful series to date was a
spin-off from The Tracey Ullman Show. Originally
appearing on that series as a 1 minute filler, the
executive producers of that series, James L. Brooks
& Sam Simon decided that these characters could
support a half hour series. So they did it and started
the longest running animated series in primetime network
television. Part of this family's broad appeal has
allowed them to make endorsements, such as the numerous
commercials they've appeared in for Butterfinger
candy bars. The Simpson's continue to air on FOX, and
weekly on CBC in Canada.

Description:
The
Smurfs are a group of over 100 bluish, three-apple
tall creatures who live in the mushroom homes of Smurf
Village. They are led by 543-year-old Papa Smurf (who
doesn't look a day over 530). Their lives would be
perfect were it not for the villainous Gargamel, a
wizard who spends his days trying to capture them to
eat, turn into gold, or for some other evil reason.
Gargamel's cat Azrael adds to the menace, always looking
for a smurfalicious snack. The single-emotioned smurfs,
including Brainy, Jokey, Vanity, Grouchy and Clumsy, and
others, were later joined by Grandpa Smurf, five
Smurflings (who went back in time to become youngsters),
and even Nanny late in the series. Gargamel, too, got a
friend in the form of the unscrupulous Scruple. The Show
was aired during Saturday mornings on NBC.
Other
Notes:
In
1997, The Smurfs along with all other creations by
Hanna-Barbera were absorbed into Warner Bros. |

Description:
The
Jungle Book is an anime based upon a children's book,
written by (Rudyard Kipling [1865-1936]) and narrates
the story of a boy named Mowgli, a native from India,
who was raised by wolves and other wild animals after
his parents die. The series revolves around Mowgli's
bitter-sweet adventures in the jungle as he tries to
find his place in life - the boy's rejected by humans
(who considers him a "demon") and by the
wolves (his "brothers" and
"sisters") alike. On top of that he has to
deal with Shere Khan (a tiger) who's trying to kill him
for reasons that are revealed throughout the story. His
closest friends are Baloo (a black bear) and Bagheera (a
panther), who act as father figures and teach him the
Law of the Jungle.
