Jim's bio in his own words: I still have vivid memories of all my 'firsts' -- in hockey broadcasting, that is. In October 1979, I cut my broadcasting teeth by covering the Canucks at the Montreal Forum for Vancouver's CKNW Radio. I took my first steps into the field of television on October 6, 1982, when I covered Toronto's 3-3 tie against the Blackhawks in Chicago.

These early experiences led me to many great opportunities. I spent four years covering the Leafs on television. I have covered many OHL and AHL games. I have called the NHL Playoff contests for Hockey Night in Canada and ESPN, and provided the play-by-play for Blue Jays and Expos baseball. Now, I have set my sights on a new professional goal -- to broadcast the game in which Roger Nielson wins the Stanley Cup ... which only gives me another 20 years.

It's no surprise that hockey is also a hobby of mine. My personal goal is to play Old-timers hockey on the same team as my son.

When I'm not chasing after my personal and professional goals, I enjoy spending time at my home in White Rock with my wife Denise, and my children, Matt and Jennifer.
